Past Simple
See the exemple below:
Airton Senna was a F-1 pilot. He lived from 1960 to 1994. He had his first Kart at the age of four. He was only 34 years old when he died. He was a great champion:
was/lived/won/had are all past simple.
Há verbos que levam a terminação -ed(Verbos regulares):
Airton Senna was a F-1 pilot. He lived from 1960 to 1994. He had his first Kart at the age of four. He was only 34 years old when he died. He was a great champion:
was/lived/won/had are all past simple.
Há verbos que levam a terminação -ed(Verbos regulares):
- I lived in Campos do Jordão.
- John invited Mary to his part but she decided not to come.
Mas há também os verbos irregulares, os quais não levam a terminação -ed, ex.:
- write====>wrote
- have====> had
- go======>went
- come===> came
Em orações interrogativas e negativas usamos did/didn't + infinitivo:
Atenção quando do for o principal verbo da oração:
- What did you do on your vacation?(not, what did you on your vacation)
- I didn't do anything.(not, I didn't anything)
O passado do verbo be:
- am,is,are ====>was,were
Não é usado did em orações interrogativas e negativas com was,were:
I was worn out last night because I worked a lot. Why was I worn out last night?
She wasn't capable to be promoted. Well...that's all for now...bye bye!
PS - Airton Senna was mentioned because on May, 1st completed 13 years of his death. His determination is an example to be followed.
