Uso do Verbo+preposição - AT and TO

Hi there,

vamos falar um pouco mais sobre preposição, mas desta vez, precedida de um verbo.
Para os verbos que vamos ver a seguir, eles sempre serão acompanhados da preposição AT ou TO, portanto o ideal é que você memorize a estrutura verbo + proposição como se fosse uma palavra só.

Então ai vão alguns exemplos bem práticos e você já poderá usá-los no seu dia-a-dia: Verbo+AT:

look at
have a look at
stare at
glance at
laugh at
smile at
aim at
point at
shoot at

Why are you looking at me like that?
Everybody laughed at me.
Don´t point that gun at anybody.

Verbo+TO:

talk/speak to
listen to
write to
invite to

Who did want to talk/speak to me?
We spent the afternoon listening to music.not listen music
He has to write a letter to his mother.
She invited a few people to their party.

Obs.: Também é possível talk/speak with, mas é menos usual.

Verbo+AT/TO, com significados diferentes:

shout at(quando está nervoso):
His mother got very angry and started shouting at him.

shout to(quando precisam ouvir você):
I shouted to her from the other side of the street.

throw at(atirar algo em alguém):
They threw an egg at the minister.

throw to(jogar algo para que alguém):
Jane threw the keys to me from the window.

Os verbos explain, describe, apologise também levam a preposição TO.

Obs.: O verdo ask não leva a preposição TO, portanto I ask him a favour e não I ask to him a favor.
